Jim Loughead, is a teacher at E.O. Smith and conducts classes in history, genocide, civics and geography and has been teaching since 2004. He lives in Canterbury with his wife, Dawn, and his children, Brendan and Zachary and enjoys running, hiking, bicycle riding and reading. He is recognized by his students as a teacher of unparalleled dedication and commitment to not only students’ educations, but also to their lives.

- 2008 – Joseph Korzenik Holocaust Award from the University of Hartford in 2008 for the course he designed on genocide.
